Surfer Magazine has named Montauk lucky number 8 in its Top 10 Best Surf Towns in America. Not stopping at a mere numerical list, the mag describes a voyage to 'The End' as such: 'Roads snake onto Long Island like the tentacles of a concrete anemone as you drive east out of NYC'. Vivid. And the waves: 'Exposed and raw, Montauk sucks in swell from the south, west, and east like a greedy Ponzi-schemer hoovering up 401Ks'. Dude, that's heavy.
