Art To The Avenue

Art to the Avenue 2010

ART TO THE AVENUE – A THIRTEEN YEAR TRADITION

Art to the Avenue, the Greenwich Arts Council’s annual spring celebration, turns Greenwich into a strolling art gallery that brings contemporary artists to downtown store windows through the month of May. In recent years, Art to the Avenue has grown to include “Off Avenue” community locations as well, that extend the reach of the exhibitions. All art is for sale.
This year will be the biggest Art to the Avenue ever, with 160 artists exhibiting in 150 locations from May 6 through May 31.

Opening Night Festivities are Thursday, May 6, from 5:30 to 8:00 pm.
Party with the artists and watch street performers, dancers and musicians as you enjoy the art.
Retailers Offer Special Support

Excitement about Art to the Avenue this year has generated even greater support from downtown Greenwich retailers. Madewell, 256 Greenwich Ave, will be donating 10% of all sales on Opening Night to the Council, as well as hosting their special Denim After Dark event that same night. J Crew will be making a similar donation. Lux Bond & Green jewelers will also donate 10% of sales on Opening Night for which they will be coordinating the opening of a new Roberto Coin jewelry boutique. Splurge Gifts is offering a special promotion of floral design and flowers by Ann Roberston of Dirt Floral. Our special thanks to all these retailers for their extra support!
