6 New Places To Eat In Northern Westchester

Northern Westchester, is one of the most beautiful places to live.   Reservoirs and horse trails abound, fantastic schools  and the proximity to Manhattan, make it hard to beat.

As  a former city girl , I am still looking for the newest and the latest when it comes to restaurants .    Don't get me wrong, there are plenty of restaurants here, but most of them are what I call "OK for Westchester".  All of a sudden there seems to be a flurry of new places either  about to open or just opened.

Moderne Barne-Located on the site of the Modern Furniture barn in Armonk , The Livanos family, owners of Oceana, Molyvos and Abboccatto in Manhattan, are opening the Moderne Barn, a contemporary American restaurant with a raw bar and an extensive wine cellar.

North- More good nesws for Armonk, two alums of Danny Meyer have figured out whats missing in ABC ( Armonk, Bedford, Chappaqua)  .

The menu will be small — about 7 appetizers and 7 entrees — and use as many local ingredients as possible. There will be a raw bar (with East Coast oysters), a lunch menu, a dinner menu and a bar menu. Right now, the plan is to serve continually throughout the day, with a menu of salads, sandwiches and small plates available between lunch and dinner.

A few of Gabrynowicz’s signature dishes from his menu at Tavern will come along to Restaurant North, including the braised short ribs and the pork cheeks. The partners are planning to work with Pat La Frieda Meats — the supplier that’s been called the rock star of the meat world — and Gabrynowicz is working on developing a dry aging program for his steaks.

O2 Live Food Café- I am probably the last gal you would find raving about raw food.  After eating at the cafe at 02, located in the Yellow Monkey Village in Cross River , NY  I am beginning to see the light.

The place is a little slice of heaven.  The ingredients so fresh.  Smoothies, green or fruit all as delicious as they are nutritious. Pizza made on ekiziel bread that is not only tasty but guilt free. Organic Berries with Coconut Crème and Raw Granola the best I have ever tasted.
Emmys Granola and Raw Organic Cookies

Panera Bread- Shopping for shoes at Marshalls Mega shoe store or getting a Brazilian blowout works up an appetite.  Looks like a  branch of Panera  Bread is opening in  Bedford Hills.

Yogoberry-

Located in Mt Kisco.  Frozen Yogurt, smoothies and bubble tea.   You  have a choice of healthy topping , such as blueberries and almonds, or you can go crazy and top off your yogurt with fruity pebbles and gummy bears .   It's up to you.

Village Social-I am eagerly waiting for this Mt Kisco restaurant to open.  I predict it will be the next hot spot . They  have been renovating the former space of Restaurant Luna for months now. I for one  look  forward to seeing  the wood burning oven back in action again .

Thanks for the great info. I'm pretty tired of the same old same old.

Lalibela is a new restaurant and fantastic: an Ethiopian restaurant in Mt. Kisco next to the fairly new Jamaican restaurant and across from Okinawa. Fantastic! Great service, too. The ambience is also very nice.
