Back to School Tomorrow: Head Lice Shampoo Today

The last thing busy parents want to find in their child's backpack is a letter from the nurse telling them that there is a head lice outbreak at school. Head lice can be a very stressful situation for parents because it is unexpected, and most Moms haven't put thought into what to do if their kids get head lice. I recently encountered Happy Heads, which is an organic natural head lice removal system which will be perfect for the back to school season.  I had the pleasure of speaking with Melissa Gordon, a Westchester Mom and the Founder of Happyheads.

Happyheads offers parents products that are more convenient than home remedies, and safer than drugstore treatments that use pesticides. "As a Mom myself, I was upset at the differing information online about the safety of head lice treatment products. As a result, I founded Happyheads, LLC.  All of our products are paraben free, non-toxic, contain organic certified ingredients, and pure essential oils. When Moms use our kits they do not have to be concerned that the products will potentially harm their children," said Melissa Gordon, Founder of Happyheads.

Besides the Happyheads treatment products, they also offer prevention products, which are prefect for back-to-school. Head lice cases spike during the school year when kids are sharing helmets and hats etc. The Happy School Kid Kit provides prevention products that will decrease a child's likelihood of contracting head lice. Beyond the kits Happyheads provides how-to videos, a Q&A page on the website, and a blog that helps answer questions Moms have about head lice and how to deal with it.

Happyheads also recently launched 2 new exciting products including the Scootie- Cootie Organic Repelling shampoo & the Scootie- Cootie Organic Repelling leave in conditioner and detangler.  Both are preventative products that should especially be used during the school year when your kids are most likely to contract head  lice from their classmates.  This product is perfect for back to school and it is 100% safe for kids!

yeah head lice is very stressful, i once had a problem with it when i was tutoring this kid. when i looked at her paper, i saw some nit in her hair. i then called her parents and asked if they knew that their daughter had head lice. and then they told me that they didnt know. so i then stopped what we were doing then got some mayo and put it in her hair.

i always do this when i tutor her. and gladly i cant see any nit nor head lice.

My daughter always using hairspray and after a few months she complained that her scalp became itchy...i think it’s the head lice attacking her hair. I think it’s the kind of hair spray or hair spray can attract head? Is there any head lice treatment. I just used this on both my kids. I am a bit worried since I can see in my youngest boys hair, some tiny tiny black things, too small for the comb to catch, I hope they are dead! Find More
