The Zumba Bash and Benefit

Helen Ansari & Saw Mill Club Host:
The Zumba® Bash & Benefit
A fun, inspirational Latindance
inspired fitness party to benefit
The American Cancer Society (ACS)

Breast Cancer survivor and
former Northern Westchester Hospital patient, Helen Ansari, along with daughters,
Shahidah (25) and Tarajee (22), are infusing their passion for fitness with charity to
help local hospital patients.
Dancing through life is Helen’s forte during good times and bad. She has always
looked to movement as a source of healing for the mind, body and spirit. Helen’s
presence as a fitness instructor has made a real impact at the Saw Mill Club and its
members for over two decades. On September 12, Helen will use her talents for
fitness and inspiration to unite the community and raise funds to improve lives of
local cancer patients and survivors in the patient navigation program at Northern
Westchester Hospital’s Cancer Treatment & Wellness Center.
The upcoming American Cancer Society fundraiser has all of the elements of a
formal benefit with all of the feel‐good fun of a Zumba workout. The event will kick
off with a greeting by celebrity MC Paul Shaffer, followed by a 90 minute heartpumping
Zumba workout to the beats of a live DJ and drummer, Cal Kramer, of
Blonde Ambition. After the workout, guests will enjoy cocktails, hors d’euvres and
a unique silent auction featuring luxury gift items, exclusive experiences and a
Jewelry Bar courtesy of Judith Ripka.
Local businesses have rallied around the cause to benefit the community. Decorator
Steven Zukerman of Travesties Entertainment will illuminate two indoor tennis
courts, donated by Saw Mill Club, with jungle themed lighting. Mt. Kisco Wines &
Spirits will serve complimentary wines and Mango Café will serve Zumba‐jitos.
Delectable hors d'oeuvres will be served by: Café of Love, E Lounge, Jardin du Roi,
Margarita Family Restaurant and Restaurant 353. Photographer, Jamie Kilgore, of
Jamie Kilgore Photography will be there to capture this remarkable event. The
silent auction features exclusive experiences such as a haircut by celebrity hair
stylist Ted Gibson of “What Not to Wear,” a round of golf at Waccabuc Country Club
and more.
