Come into town for an AMAZING Parade!

This invitation is from the Katonah Museum:

The Katonah Museum of Art has partnered with Alex Kahn and Sophia Michahelles, leaders of the annual Greenwich Village Halloween Parade, to design a unique puppetry event for Katonah.  Commute of the Species will use puppetry and public performance to chronicle the arrival of non-native animal and plant species to the Hudson River Valley , from gypsy moths and zebra mussels to water chestnuts and European starlings.
Commute of the Species  will transform the everyday commuter experience into an allegory of migration and habitat expansion, essentially condensing 400 years of eco-history into a single train ride.  With the cooperation of MTA/Metro-North, a northbound train car will be transformed into a dynamic natural history museum as each "commuter" species puppet boards at prearranged stops according to its historic appearance in the area.  The menagerie will then disembark in Katonah at 1:53 pm and lead a 2:00 public parade through the streets of the village.  Starting at the Gazebo, the route will be up Parkway, left on Bedford Road, left onto Allen Place, and left on Katonah Avenue (where it will move onto the sidewalks).  It will then proceed back to the Metro-North commuter parking lot, where there will be light food and refreshments for all participants.
The Katonah Museum of Art invites the entire community to bring their puppets, costumes, masks, homemade instruments-even bird calls-and participate in this procession.
(OK, isn't this the coolest parade ever???  See below how we hope to make it even more fun!)

Gummy Bugs for all!

Come to NoKa Joe's before or after the parade, wearing your costume or mask, or bringing your puppet or homemade instruments.  When you do, you'll get some free Gummy Bugs or Fish, in celebration of all those 'non-native' creatures now living in Katonah!
