2nd Annual Zumba Bash and Benefit

zumba bash acs Sixteen years ago Helen Ansari was a loving wife, hardworking mother raising two daughters, the youngest in 3rd grade and the eldest in 5th.  Helen was in the best shape of her life after competing in a National Aerobics competition placing fourth when she was diagnosed with Breast Cancer.  After being diagnosed, Helen's mother, Helen Ford Sr., had a cancer relapse; shortly after her Breast Cancer spread to the bone and she spent her remaining days in a hospice.  Helen is now 16 years cancer-free; this is something she thinks about every day and each cancer-free year is deeply valued as a blessing.

Having been in the fitness field for over 30 years, Helen started the Zumba Bash & Benefit in 2009 to raise funds for the American Cancer Society Patient Navigation Program at Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco.  The program helps patients to cope with cancer, prepares them to deal with treatment and side effects.  In addition the program assists patients in identifying financial assistance resources for medication, home health care and transportation.
