Do you have things in your closet that you haven’t worn for at least 2 years? I don’t anymore . Lisa Scarsella from Second Time Around Cosignments in Bedford Hills, NY came to my rescue.
Her first question, what haven’t you worn in 2 years?
We started with the shoes. Easy enough there were gorgeous pair that just hurt me. They won’t hurt you, I promise.
Next we attacked the handbags. I have so many adorable bags, but lets face it, I am just not that into them. They would look great with whatever you are wearing. Trust me.
Onto the jeans. The moment of truth, as you will. They are just not getting over my butt. No need to try them on again. It’s depressing I know, but I am glad they are gone. Who was I fooling? If I ever lose enough weight I promise to buy myself another pair of jeans, but for now they are yours for the taking.
Next dresses. I love dresses. One item and you're dressed. Sort of. Kind of. These, I tortured Lisa with.
I tried them on, she told me which one to keep and which ones to recycle. She has a skilled eye, and was able to help me sort through the plethora of hanging items. let’s face it there are only so many times you can the same dress before your friends start to notice.
This is how it works……
Potential "client" schedules an appointment. Lisa reviews the items and take what she thinks will sell in the store. If requested for a minimal fee, she will go to the clients home and go through the closet.
The consignment period is 90 days at a 50/50 split. After 90 days, the consignor has 7 days to retrieve unsold consignments. If pieces are not retrieved after seven 7 days they become my property and Lisa donates them to the Katonah Community Center.
