Twifties On Television

Pound Ridger has New TV Show with Bedfordite Guest

Lauren Traub Teton of Pound Ridge has a new TV show on local access Cablevision and has enlisted the talent of Joanna Mosca of Bedford and others to appear on the first show. "The Twifties Show" is an entertainment and talk show shot in the Yorktown Cablevision studio and on location in local spots. Twifties are the "fun people" in their late 40s, 50s, 60s, and up. Ms. Teton is a professional product namer and inventor, and decided that the fun folks like her needed a name of their own, and she created the word "Twifties" to stand for "people in their 50s who act like they're in their 20s."

The first show will air on Cablevision Public Access Channel 74 four times. Dates are June 1 at 5:00 pm and and June 3 at 10:00 pm. Joanna Mosca of Bedford appears and discusses her new album and how she discovered her talent for songwriting years after becoming a singer. Clips of Joanna's performances are shown. Belly dancers in their 60s and 70s, Robina and Fahdida of Westchester also appear. Viewers will notice them dancing silently, sans music. Ms. Teton calmly apologies and says "finding out at the last minute that you need permission from the artists to use their music is all part of the learning curve."

An upcoming show features the harmonized singing of the Pipin' Hot Quartet, featuring Delia Siemers of Bedford. Local residents and businesses who are Twifties and want to share their passions on the show should contact Ms. Teton. Clothing sponsors for Ms. Teton's wardrobe are welcomed as are camera crew who have taken the Cablevision course. For future show times or anything else contact Lauren@Twifties.com , or 914 764-0115.
